The live-action sequel film Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai – Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen Final ranked at #1 in its opening weekend. The film sold 195,000 tickets and earned 252 million yen (about US$2.29 million) in its first three days (including Friday). It sold 124,500 tickets and earned 164 million yen (about US$1.49 million) during Saturday and Sunday.
The first film sold 1.8 million tickets and earned 2.2 billion yen (about US$20.04 million) during its 2019 run.
