Funimation announced on Wednesday that it will begin streaming an English dub for Higurashi: When They Cry – SOTSU, the followup to the Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU television anime, on Thursday. The dub will feature returning English cast members from Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU, including Apphia Yu as Rika Furude, Emi Lo as Rena Ryugu, Michelle Rojas as Mion Sonozaki, and Brittany Lauda as Satoko Hojo.
Higurashi: When They Cry – SOTSU premiered on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Sun TV on July 1. The debut aired the first two episodes together. Funimation is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan. Ayane, who performed two ending theme songs for Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU, performs the new show’s opening theme song “Analogy.”
