The “Digimon” franchise is getting a brand-new anime series that’ll hit TV and streaming platform device screens sometime in the fall of this year.
Titled “Digimon Ghost Game,” the series will be accompanied by a just-as-new movie for fans of the show to enjoy.
Anime News Network reports how the news of this reboot series was announced during DigiFest 2021 on Sunday. However, the exact plot of the upcoming show—as well as the film—remains relatively vague (although it is confirmed that it will be based on the “Digimon Adventure 02” anime).
CBR.com explains how “Digimon Ghost Game” will feature entirely different characters and digital monsters (“digi-mon,” get it?”) when compared to the original “Digimon” series, although it remains unclear whether this series will take place within the same universe.
